The Mean Ruz Lighthouse of Ploumanac’h
The Mean Ruz Lighthouse stands on the spectacular pink granite rocks of the Côte de Granit Rose, near Perros-Guirec.
Built from the same pink granite that shapes the surrounding coastline, this lighthouse blends perfectly with the landscape. It is one of the most iconic landmarks of Brittany’s northern coast along the English Channel.
This photograph was captured at sunset, when the sky turned soft shades of pink and orange, creating a striking contrast with the rugged rocks and the solid granite tower.
A Symbol of the Pink Granite Coast
The Mean Ruz lighthouse is famous for its unique color. Unlike most French lighthouses built with grey granite, this one was constructed with the pink granite characteristic of this region.
Destroyed during World War II and rebuilt in 1946, the lighthouse continues to guide sailors along the rocky coastline of northern Brittany.
Today, it is one of the most photographed landmarks on the Pink Granite Coast.
